Top 4 Tips and Things I Learnt from Posting Everyday on Instagram

Hi Babes! How is your day going? Great I hope.
A while ago, I took on a personal challenge and posted everyday on Instagram for about 27 days or thereabout. The results were mind blowing. I was shook y'all. I decided to do a post to share some of the things I found out with you :)

1. There is an untapped amount of traffic waiting for influencers it's crazy.

2. Instagram is a two way road. Once you settle down and figure out the ever changing
algorithms and get it right your audience will grow without you having to buy followers or likes. This requires A LOT of patience and time however.
My secret has been the Holy Spirit. He keeps teaching me new stuff! Believe it or not, there is actually a skill to instagram. Also, you can also implore the use of strategic use of hashtags, and a CREATIVE MIND. Ask yourself what do I want my Instagram grid to look like? If you aren't sure, google or check out pintrest for instagram theme ideas to inspire you.

Keeping up with my New Posts is now Easier than Ever! All You have to do is enter your Email Address in the Box Below, and You will stay Informed:

3. You need a serious "non spammy" unfollower application. Why you ask? Well because it's a jungle out there, and some accounts ain't loyal honey. People will follow to unfollow you after 24 hours or less! I use "Followers Assistant" by Andrew Tretiakov. Hahaha I've used this application for so long I feel like a shareholder. It's so genuine, and free too! You can have up to three accounts on it. God bless Andrew for this app. Honeybun you can find it here
You can't even imagine how happy I am with tis application. I discovered it after experiencing some thought provoking events. I hope you find it useful if you don't have one you use. If you have one you use, please share the name with me in the comments.

4. There are exciting thriving communities on instagram! My joy knew no bounds upon discovering the thriving black community. Nothing relates like inclusion, seeing people doing well, achieving feats that were once believed to be farfetched. Melanin poppin, Blackgirlskillingit, blackgirlsrock, blackgirlstravel, and so on... So much inspiration y'all! There are other thriving circles I like to call communities as well who inspire me because I love to learn stuff about other cultures too(in my opinion, these help unite a lot of people). You'd never believe the time I linger around some Indian, Russian, Arab, Asian, and Latino instagram grids just admiring and well learning about places, people, food and other stuff.

You can find me all over the internet by clicking on the links below and keep in touch:

I hope you enjoyed this post. Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.

Wishing you a beautiful week filled with success.

Hi Babes! Welcome to today's post, and happy Sunday.
Let me start by saying that if you were hoping this post will be one to list the benefits of drinking the good ol' H2O aka water to you, you will be disappointed. There are a lot of posts on the internet that breaks that down for you, I encourage you to search for them and read up.

This blog post however will serve as an inspiration,or guide to assist you drink water, or more water. Back in Uni, I learnt the benefits of water from a friend of mine after she shared one of her weight loss tips that became a healthy lifestyle change for her, water. I'd be sharing that in a future post.

Let's get down to today's post.

1. Buy a fancy/portable water bottle. Because of its portable nature, you can carry it anywhere and it can fit well into your bag. I prefer acrylic bottles to flasks because over time, there's this taste flasks gives to water that I don't like. But if you prefer flasks, by all means go ahead.

Keeping up with my New Posts is now Easier than Ever! All You have to do is enter your Email Address in the Box Below, and You will stay Informed:

2. Set alarms with fancy tunes as reminders. Fancy tunes to encourage you because some tunes can be an outright addition to your mood if you're pissed off at the moment it goes on.

3. Post-It/Sticky Notes can be of help too. You can use these colorful stationery as reminders that you need a gulp.
For instance:
Have you had a gulp today?

Hungry or thirsty?

Have a drink Honey :)

H2O over there (with arrows pointing to your water)

4. Spice things up a bit if you find water too plain. You can actually infuse your favourite fruits/veggies into it to give it a kick in the taste department. I got to see this for the first time when I was in Law school. There are special portable acrylic bottles for this too. Shout out to my girl Fisayo who taught me how to make it.
These ones are infused in Masonic jars, and are a great option for parties and cocktails for people who'd rather go with good ol' water(if you're one indicate by commenting, let us know ourselves).

5. Be determined and Intentional about drinking more water. It's a lifestyle change that your body will thank you for. Remember not to make it a burden so that it doesn't seem like a chore. Stay safe and healthy Loves.

I hope this post is of help to you if you struggle with drinking water.

Wishing you happiness and praying you smash all your goals this week.

Read All About my Bloggerpoint Brunch Experience

Under what circumstances would you forgive your beloved blogger for being away for so long? I hope life has been good to you.

How did you find filling out the forms in my previous post? I just wanted to know what sort of things you'd rather see on the blog and get to know you better. If you didn't fill it, it's not too late; to do so click here.

I am sorry, beyond words sorry. Y'all know that I'm currently doing my youth service, believe me when I say during this hiatus I was tested with fire. But by the grace of God, I'm back, and better!

So, about 2 weeks ago I attended a blogger brunch hosted by the Bloggerpoint. I posted some sneak peaks on my instagram account, and early hints in my instastories.

The brunch started at 12:30pm. Your girl got there at 12:56pm because I couldn't find the exact spot where the lounge and bar is located(I know, I'm trying but I need to go out more).

I was totally blown away. Who knew Abuja had so many people, and bloggers! We started off with getting to know each other. We had a lot of laughs, cakes, small chops (which i didn't take because Bella's chocolate cake had me stuffed). For drinks we had malt, and Chapman(Y'all know I'm always down for a good chapman).

I made some AMAZING friends, including a good photographer, Emeka. We listened to seasoned bloggers give tips and share some of their secrets of attaining success.

At the end of the brunch, each of us got a goody bag. You know that song by the Rolling Stones, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you find you get what you need That was exactly how I felt about my goody bag, nuff said.

At the end of the day I went for 6pm mass because I knew I couldn't pull off going for morning mass and attending he event. It was a win win for me, and I'm glad I had a great time!

For more scoops, follow me on instagram @lilyofnigeria I usually post early in the mornings, sometimes. Till next time, thank you for stopping by and reading this post.

*PS For those of you that have asked about my dress, I'll be telling you about it on Tuesday.

Wishing you peace,and happiness,
Your Friend,

Life Lately: Abuja 6

Quote of the Day: Ask and it will be give unto you, see and you will find.-Matthew 7:7.

Hi guys welcome to my blog!
I'm so excited about today's post (I don't know why). The previous week was a roller coaster filled amazing moments for me. I'm thankful to God that I keep learning and growing.
I fell very ill after the heavy storm that caught up with us during our NYSC biometrics registration, but thank God I am much better.
On Tuesday, I wasn't feeling up to it, but o knew I had to attend the Fashion Focus event held at the British Council courtesy of the Lagos Fashion and Design Week. I got there at 2:26pm because the event was slated to start at 2:30 pm but ended up starting at 3:39 pm; talk about african time. Shortly after, the organisers apologised and it kicked off.

Let me state that I learnt a lot from Mrs Omoyemi Akerele aka StyleHouseFiles and I am grateful I didn't miss George Okoro's talk. They both inspire me, a lot!

Mrs Akerele and Me. I got to have a little chat with her. This woman right here has a good heart, plus she's a believer of Jesus Christ. Oops! Forgot to mention that she's also a lawyer. She ditched law for fashion. She's living the life of her dreams!

You'd definitely be seeing a lot of changes here on the blog,as I will put what I learnt from that event to practice.

I had a little issue with what to wear for the event in the morning, so I asked God. Me and God have the weirdest conversations.
Me: God I'm ill,and I don't know what to wear please help me. I need something to heat me up and not look like a stuffed animal.
God: Bring out that bright red sweater from your box and match it with your blue gown. Red and blue go... You can wear tights to keep your legs warm.
Me: Wonderful! It'll give the illusion of a red sweater and a blue skirt. Thank you.
I met some amazing people; one of them took these amazing photos(I wished I brought my tripod stand, you will never know the struggle for good lighting).

2 weeks ago I treated myself to some TLC after Mass.

My friends at the office found this nice spot to eat without breaking the bank at Maitama, so I joined them. The food there is lit!! The camera couldn't get the others, next time though.
Yesterday, out of boredom I made Nigerian Zobo.

That's today's post guys. Thank you for visiting.

Hi guys! Good evening :) I trust your weekend is going well. I finally got better, thus this post(the doctor said something about a vitamin deficiency). Y'all probably thought I pulled a now you see me, now you don't stunt on you again.
My life constantly evolving for the best, and I'm adapting quicker than I ever imagined I would.

Before we continue, I want to say a big thank you to Blogaratti and Gail for checking up on me.

Saturdays are for taking stock. Remember the first one? Ha! If you haven't seen it, you can read up here.

I am:
Learning: to apply the "if they don't know you personally, don't take it personal" mantra.

Embracing: my new office. I got redeployed to the legal unit of my office, how great is my God! I'm finally doing something I studied in school.

Decided: to stop judging myself harshly.

Learnt: in God's time, he makes everything perfect, and beautiful.

Still Loving: "the Dressmaker" movie. Kate Winslet and the other cast nailed it. I love it because I can totally relate to being picked upon, and falsely accused of something I had no hand in, before God vindicated me.

Happy: @lilyofnigeria has picked up.

Grateful: for all the love and support you all keep showing.

Listening: to songs from my Spirit Album. Courtesy of Nathaniel Bassey's Jesus Christ inspired HallelujahChallenge.

Drinking: my homemade Ginger and Green Tea(your girl has indigestion yo).

Wanting: to travel to Panya, aka Malabo in Equatorial Guinea.

Needing: a high tech functional tablet.

Looking: for my timetable and vitamin B supplement.

Missing: my Mommy.

Loving: the thought of exploring Nigeria as a tourist.

Knowing: that forgiving one girl that shamelessly bullied me in High School was the best thing to do.
Reading: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights(UDHR) adopted by the UN General Assembly on the 10th day of December 1948.

Hoping: to learn how to use Snapseed.

Praying: for Lagosians living on the Island and waterlogged areas. May God come to your aid (I heard it's been raining non stop for more than 7 days).

Can't Wait: to go for Mass tomorrow.

About: to call it a night.

That's it for today guys, thanks for stopping by and reading. This photo was taken and edited by me on my last trip to Lagos(I know right, Nigeria can be photogenic when she wants to).

Keep trying to be the change you seek. Keep learning new ways to positively impact the lives around you,and you. Keep doing what you want to be remembered for.  By God's grace, I'll see you in my next post on Monday.

* InsertHandinFaceEmoji *

Happy New Month: Blog Goals

Welcome guys! It's been a while since I posted here. Happy New Month! It's another opportunity to right all wrongs and take chances; I hope June was good to you.
If you follow me on instagram here you already knew about this post before hand.
I've been busy with a lot of things behind the scenes.
How have you been? It's been a while o...

So, my people, what goals do you have planned out for the month of July?
As for me,I've decided to take my blog/brand serious, (with God's help).
:) At the moment, as much as I want to,I won't be able to post everyday. Here are some of the goals I hope to achieve for Lily  of  Nigeria this July:

I'll be posting four times a week. On Mondays,Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I figured I need to put in my best into this. What do I have to loose?
In Jesus name, I will blog to the "fullest maximum",can I get an Amen somebody?

•On instagram,I'd be posting everyday so be sure to check out my posts. Shebi we're friends, you can follow my account @lilyofnigeria
Focus the blog on Fashion + Beauty + Reviews and Life. Each topic has a particular day(you'd have to find out which one falls on which day).

• Not to bite more than I can chew, to focus and achieve(basically point and nail my goals). Brand Mantra: Consistency, quality over quantity.

Relaunch my YouTube Channel sometime in the month.

• To slay the procrastination that had held me down.

• I'm not going to ignore the fact that some people aren't creative, and go about shamelessly copying pasting other peoples ideas and published work without giving back credit! Henceforth, I will call them out, without pettiness of course.

In other News, we have crossed the 50,000 views threshold. As a matter of fact, we're headed to 55,000! Thank you all so much. I appreciate ALL your support
Even on Facebook we have 120 likes on the page, if you haven't been there before, you can click here

Just before we call it a day, Biko, have y'all seen this expensive post on Instagram?

What are your thoughts? My jaw literally dropped to the ground. Haba Nigerians...!

I wish you a successful July, filled with laughter and joy. By God's grace, I'll see you in my post on Monday.

Love and Peace,
